Aviva was born in Princeton, NJ. She attended Brown University, from which she received a BA in Visual Art. She currently lives in Brooklyn, NY.
Aviva won an award for her watercolor, Peter, which was shown in the 31st Annual Juried Student Show (2011) at Brown University. In 2010, she received the Roberta Joslin Award from Brown, in recognition of her innovative work in the visual arts. Aviva’s solo exhibits in the NYC area have included Nature Series at Beaner Bar (Brooklyn, 2017), and in the Boston area, Key Series at Julian’s Restaurant (Providence, 2013), Self Portrait Series (“What Beautiful Hair”) in the store Mister Sister (Providence, 2013), Key Series at the Edge Café in (Providence, 2011), and her senior show at Brown University in 2010.
Also in 2010, Aviva worked as an apprentice draftsman to the Sol LeWitt Studio, contributing to Wall Drawing #1268: Scribbles: Staircase (AKAG) at the Albright-Knox Art Gallery in Buffalo, NY.
She has shown in numerous group exhibitions in the greater NYC area, at Lucey’s Lounge (Brooklyn, 2016), the Greenpoint Gallery (Brooklyn, 2014), the Lazarus Gallery (New Rochelle, 2014), and Local Project (Queens, 2016, 2014 ), as well as in the Providence/Boston area, at Open Studios Pawtucket, Up-A-Notch Gallery (2011),House of Blues, Boston (2011), the 30th Annual Juried Student Show (Brown University, 2010), the Contrariwise Nonsense Exhibition (Brown University, 2009), andthe Paint Rhode Island exhibit at the Rhode Island Watercolor Society (Providence, 2008).
